Appliance Removal in Tucker
We carry out the refrigerator, washer, range or water heater you no longer need, protect your floors and door frames on the way, and send it to recycling instead of a landfill. One person handles your job from the first call to the final sweep.
Heavy, awkward and better recycled
Many full-size refrigerators top 250 pounds, and the bulk of that mass rides near the top of the cabinet instead of the base. That makes them want to tip on a turn. Tight hallway corners, finished kitchen floors and basement stairs are where the damage usually happens, so we arrive with a proper dolly, straps and padding. The appliance leaves, and your home looks the way it did before we walked in.
Appliances are mostly steel, copper and aluminum, and refrigerators and freezers also hold refrigerant that should never be vented. We take what we haul to recyclers and scrap processors set up for that material, so very little ends up buried.
When you call, the person you speak with is the same person who schedules your crew, answers your questions on the day and confirms the job is finished. We work across Tucker and nearby towns such as Lilburn, Doraville and Stone Mountain.

What appliance removal includes
- 01
Refrigerators and freezers
Upright, side-by-side, French door and chest freezers, including the extra fridge in the garage that finally gave up after another long Georgia summer. Each one goes to a facility that draws off the refrigerant first, and only then is the steel shell sent for scrap.
- 02
Washers and dryers
We pull them from closets and laundry rooms once the water valves are closed. Washers often hold a little water in the drum and hoses, so we drain and cap what we can before moving them.
- 03
Ranges, ovens and cooktops
Electric ranges are unplugged and wheeled out. A gas range still tied to its supply line needs a plumber or your gas utility to close and seal that connection first. Mention it when you call, and we will plan the visit around that work.
- 04
Dishwashers, microwaves and small units
Countertop and over-the-range microwaves, dehumidifiers, window AC units and dishwashers that are already disconnected. Small items can ride along with a larger pickup.
- 05
Water heaters
Tank water heaters are heavy and sometimes still partly full of sediment and water. We take them out once they have been disconnected and drained.
- 06
Careful carry-out and cleanup
Floor runners on the path out, padding on door frames and stair rails, and a sweep of the spot where the appliance stood. Dust and lint behind a dryer or fridge is cleared before we leave.
Questions about Appliance Removal?
Call(404) 948-3532When an old appliance should go
Delivery day is close
Plenty of retailers add a fee to take the old unit, and some crews refuse to carry one up from a basement or out of a garage. With the space already clear, the installers can set the new one and go.
A fridge that runs constantly
A compressor that never cycles off, frost building in the freezer or warm spots on the shelves usually mean a repair bill near the cost of a replacement.
Rust, leaks or a burning smell
A rusted washer tub, water pooling under a dishwasher or a dryer that smells hot are good reasons to stop using it and get it out of the house.
It has been sitting unplugged for months
A dead freezer in the basement or a spare washer in the garage takes up room you could use. If it has not run in a season, it probably will not again.
How the day goes
- 1
A call with one contact
You describe the appliance, where it sits and what lies between it and the driveway, such as stairs or a narrow door. If it helps, we can come look at it in person at no charge, and our schedule often has room for a visit today or tomorrow.
- 2
A little prep on your side
Empty the fridge and freezer and let the freezer defrost for a day if you can. Close water valves and make sure any gas appliance has been disconnected.
- 3
Protect, then move
The crew lays runners, pads the tight spots and straps the appliance to a dolly. On stairs, two people control it the whole way down.
- 4
Load, sweep and confirm
We load the truck, clean the floor where the unit stood and check in with you before leaving. The appliance then goes to recycling or scrap.
What affects the price
Price comes down mostly to how much space the appliance takes on the truck and how much work it takes to reach it. You hear the full total before the crew lifts anything, and it does not grow with surprise charges once the truck is in your driveway.
- Size and weight
- A chest freezer or side-by-side refrigerator takes more room and more hands than a microwave or a window unit.
- Refrigerant handling
- Refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and AC units need refrigerant recovery at the recycler, which can add to the cost of disposal.
- Access and stairs
- A washer from a second-floor laundry room or a freezer from a finished basement takes more time and care than one sitting in the garage.
- Combining items
- Adding an old mattress or a few boxes to the same trip often costs less than booking them separately. Our junk removal and garage cleanouts pages cover larger loads.
Appliance removal questions
Do you disconnect appliances?
We unplug electric appliances and can unhook a washer from its hoses once the water valves are closed. Gas connections are the one thing we leave alone. A plumber or gas technician should separate a gas range or dryer from its line and seal the fitting ahead of our visit, and after that the unit moves like any other.
Does my refrigerator need to be empty?
Yes, please remove all food and loose shelves you want to keep. If the freezer has ice built up, unplugging it a day early and leaving a towel underneath keeps water off your floor during the move.
Where does the appliance end up?
Most appliances go to metal recyclers and scrap processors. Units with refrigerant go to a facility that recovers it first. Anything still working and in good shape may be donated when a local charity can accept it.
Can you take an appliance out of a basement?
Yes. Basement stairs are where most of the care goes, so we pad the rail and walls and use two people with a strapped dolly. If the whole basement needs attention, our basement cleanouts service handles the rest.
Will the price change once you arrive?
The price we agree on is the price you pay for the items we discussed. If you decide to add more while the crew is there, your contact gives you the new total before anything else is loaded.
